What is the flip clock?
A flip clock is a large digital clock styled as mechanical split-flap cards, with the digits animating over as each minute changes.
Oversized digits on split flip cards, animating with the hinge fold of a real mechanical clock. It is legible from across a room, which makes it useful as a desk clock on a spare monitor or a phone propped up on a nightstand.
On a phone beside the bed the black screen with a clock is dimmer and draws less power, and the DVD screensaver is the option when you want movement rather than the time.
How do you use the flip clock?
Press fullscreen and prop the device where you can see it. Turn on Keep awake so it does not sleep overnight.

Will the screen go to sleep overnight?
Not with Keep awake switched on. It holds a browser wake lock, so the display stays lit with no input at all.
Without it, the device sleeps on its normal schedule and you wake up to a black screen. Plug in overnight if you are relying on it.
Is there a 24-hour option?
It follows your device’s own clock format automatically. Set your system to 24-hour time and the page matches it.
There is no separate setting to get wrong, which is deliberate.
Does the flip clock work offline?
Yes. Once the page has loaded it keeps running with no connection, because the time comes from your device.
