What is a maroon screen used for?
A maroon screen turns a display into a flat, even surface of one colour, used for lighting, backdrops, tracing and checking a panel for faults.
Maroon is red at low luminance. The wavelength advantage is the same as any red, but it emits far less light, which is the better trade when a screen sits in an otherwise dark room for hours.
